What makes Expert so tough?
Expert Battleship Sudoku gives you the row/column counts and a handful of sudoku digits — nothing else. No pre-revealed ship segments. Every ship position is deduced entirely from logic.
But every Expert puzzle on this site has exactly one answer, solvable without guessing. Use notes, take breaks, trust the counts!

Zero/full rows and columns
Find all count = 0 and count = length rows/columns. These are freebies.

Naked pairs in sudoku
If two cells in a row have the same two candidates, remove those candidates from all other cells in that row.

Ship size constraints
The biggest ship is 4 long. If a row count is 4 and you can identify a stretch of 4 consecutive unruled cells, that's your Battleship.

Total count = 20
If you've confirmed ships totalling 17 cells, only 3 remain to find. That's a huge help.

Every confirmed ship updates row/col counts for the whole board. Keep going!

How long does an Expert puzzle take?
Most kids who can solve Expert finish in 30 to 50 minutes. Some take longer — that's perfectly normal. There's no time limit.
What if I'm really stuck?
Tap the Hint button — it fills one correct sudoku cell so you can keep going. Check is also there to spot wrong digits.
