What is Snowflake Sudoku?
Snowflake Sudoku is a number puzzle shaped like a snowflake. Six hexagons sit in a ring, and each one is split into six triangular cells. That gives you 36 playable triangles altogether.
Your goal is to fill the empty triangles with the digits 1 to 6. Every little hexagon needs all six digits, and so does every straight line of six triangles that travels across two hexagons.
It looks very different from a square sudoku board, but the big idea is familiar: look at the groups that meet at a cell, cross out digits that are already used, and place the only digit left.
The two snowflake rules

Complete every hexagon
Each pastel hexagon has six triangular cells. It must contain 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 exactly once.

Complete every straight line
Lines of six triangles cross pairs of hexagons at three different angles. Every one of those lines must also contain 1–6 exactly once.

Never repeat a digit
If a 4 is already in the selected triangle’s hexagon or any of its three lines, another 4 cannot go there.
How to play step by step

Pick a nearly full group
Look for a hexagon or straight line that already has four or five digits. Work out which digits are missing.

Tap an empty triangle
The triangle turns yellow and every cell connected to it is outlined, making its rules easier to see.

Check all four groups
Every triangle belongs to one hexagon and three straight lines. A digit must be allowed in all four places.

Place the digit
Tap 1–6 on the number pad. If you change your mind, use Erase or Undo. A wrong guess never ends the game.

Finish the snowflake
Keep scanning until all 36 triangles are full. Each puzzle has exactly one solution.

Easy strategies for kids
- 🔍 Start where five of the six digits are already visible. The last answer is forced.
- 🎯 Choose one digit and follow it around the snowflake. The line rules often leave only one possible triangle.
- 🧠 Check the hexagon first, then trace each of the three lines through your cell.
- ✏️ If two digits could fit, write both as notes and move somewhere else.
- 🧘 Take a break if the geometry starts to blur. The saved puzzle will wait for you.
