What changes on Medium?
Medium Battleship puzzles start with fewer sudoku digits and only a handful of pre-revealed ship segments. You'll need to combine the row/column counts with your sudoku logic to narrow down ship positions.
If Medium feels like a big jump, do a few more Battleship Sudoku Easy puzzles first. Once the row/column counting feels natural, Medium becomes much easier.
Medium strategies

Zero out first
Find all rows and columns with count 0. Mark every cell in them as ship-free.

High-count rows
A row with count 7, 8 or 9 is almost all ships. The sudoku constraints will narrow down exactly which cells.

Use the no-touch rule
After confirming each ship, immediately mark all eight neighbours as ship-free.

Reconcile counts
If a row has count 3 and you've already confirmed 3 ship cells in it, all remaining cells in that row are ship-free.
When you get stuck
- ✏️ Turn on Notes and pencil in every possible sudoku digit
- 🔎 Tap Check — fix any wrong sudoku digit before it throws off your ship logic
- 💡 Tap Hint to fill one sudoku cell — it counts in your stats but it's allowed
- ↻ Tap Undo if you marked a wrong ship cell
Ready for Hard?
When Medium feels comfortable, try Hard Battleship Sudoku. Hard starts with very few given digits and only one revealed ship — every deduction comes from the counts and the sudoku constraints working together.

Most kids finish Medium Battleship Sudoku in 15 to 25 minutes. Take your time — there's no clock pressure, and the puzzle saves automatically.
Why don't I get any pre-revealed ships on Medium?
Medium gives you just a few revealed ships to get you started. On Hard and Expert, you get even fewer — so Medium is a good stepping stone.
